Job description

Company Overview

At Zuora, we do Modern Business. We’re helping people subscribe to new ways of doing business that are better for people, companies and ultimately the planet. It’s an approach resulting from the shift to the Subscription Economy that puts customers first by building recurring relationships instead of one-time product sales and focuses on sustainable growth. Through our leading expertise and multi-product suite, we are transforming all industries and working with the world’s most innovative companies to monetize new business models, nurture subscriber relationships and optimize their digital experiences.

We are seeking a dynamic professional to join Zuora in a remote capacity, preferably based in Boston, to collaborate with customers and prospects in evaluating and enhancing their quote-to-cash business processes. This role involves conducting on-site discovery workshops to assess current practices, developing a comprehensive maturity assessment framework, and delivering strategic recommendations for optimization, including the integration of Zuora’s technology solutions.

Ideal candidates will have a background in finance-centric consulting with expertise in revenue recognition automation and a thorough understanding of the quote-to-cash cycle in software, media, and industries with recurring revenue and consumption pricing. Responsibilities include leading functional discovery sessions, crafting tailored solutions, and articulating how Zuora’s platform can drive business growth. A BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with working knowledge of accounting business processes and ASC 606 / IFRS 15 standards. Strong presentation skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels are essential.

Focusing on critical prospects and customers, you will work with Go To Market and Product organizations to plan transformation strategy, lead pre-sales and customer workshops, best practice and education sessions, and advise our clients on how to build best-in-class Quote-to-Cash experiences. You’ll educate them on the unique value Zuora provides alongside their existing investments, guide them in mapping a phased evolution of their system architecture, and recommend how they fill gaps in their technology ecosystem. You’ll solve some of the most interesting business-critical challenges for high-profile clients transforming the way they do business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO & ACHIEVE:

  • Analyze and optimize the Quote to Cash cycle for prospects and customers to provide best practices on efficiency, accuracy, and operational satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Solution Consultants and Revenue Advisors to create a vision beyond our products, detailing client journeys, and documenting architectural roadmaps that clarify Zuora’s role in the client’s technology ecosystem.
  • Consult on operational processes with a deep understanding of customer needs and constraints, including conducting functional discovery sessions and process optimization
  • Deliver presentations to a C-Level audience and articulate how Zuora’s platform will allow their business to succeed and grow
  • Challenge, recommend, and validate quote-to-revenue processes and data flows across the subscriber lifecycle
  • Identify gaps in current state architectures and help define future-state solutions with a roadmap aligned to client business priorities, goals, and objectives.
  • Educate technical teams on recurring quote-to-revenue architectural concepts and design patterns that take advantage of the value Zuora brings versus traditional order-to-revenue systems
  • Build scale by educating internal Solution Consultants on architecture best practices and positioning within the wider opportunity base.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 5+ years of experience as a consultant focusing on quote-to-cash optimization.
  • Deep expertise in CRM, ERP, and other quote-to-cash solutions across pricing and packaging, deal desk, billing, payments, finance, and accounting domains
  • Fundamental understanding of key Order to Invoice organization structure to help deliver a quality process: Sales Desk, Deals Desk, Order Control/Release Desk.
  • Deep understanding of critical process policies and controls.
  • Exceptional skills in problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication and a proven track record influencing

senior finance audiences (CFOs, CAOs, controllers).

  • Self-starter and collaborator with a proven ability to lead through influence.
  • High energy, a willingness to be creative in formulating engagements with our clients, partners, and colleagues.
  • Charismatic with a creative challenger mindset and a strong ability to build trust and confidence.
  • Willingness to travel.
