Shielded Technologies is a business technology provider and core contributor to the Midnight Network, a blockchain platform for developing decentralized applications that safeguard personal and commercial data. The Midnight Network is the first blockchain to offer programmable data isolation by leveraging zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to enable selective disclosure of what information is visible on-chain and is designed to help developers implement necessary business policies, such as meeting regulatory requirements.
What the role involves:
As an experienced Senior Communications Manager, you will lead strategic messaging and storytelling across the organization as we build cutting-edge, privacy-focused blockchain technology. The Midnight network is a regulatory-friendly data protection blockchain that safeguards commercial and personal data while upholding fundamental freedoms of association, commerce, and expression.
In this high-impact role, you will drive internal and external communications strategies that articulate our mission, grow brand awareness, and engage developers, partners, regulators, and the broader Web3 community. This role reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with leadership across the Executive Team, Product, Legal, Marketing, and Engineering.
- Lead communications strategy by defining and executing a comprehensive communication roadmap that aligns with the companyβs mission and product offerings.
- Oversee the development and placement of high-quality content with third-party publishers, including event talk tracks, industry and analyst reports, podcasts, new outlets, and more.
- Manage media and analyst relations to establish the company’s and its key spokespeople’s presence.
- Ensure technical leaders are present at Midnight ecosystem events.
- Lead Internal communications strategies to ensure transparency, alignment, and engagement across distributed teams.
- Own the company’s crisis and risk communications, developing plans that can be executed during sensitive events and working closely with the legal and leadership team to manage reputation risk.
- Promote the company’s communications via its own social media channels (X, LinkedIn)
- Manage external public relations agencies and contractors.
- Report on metrics, such as media mentions, social media engagement rates, and internal communications effective scores to track performance of communication strategies and their impact, use these insights to iterate messaging and optimize content strategy
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a comms leader, with a strong portfolio showcasing your previous work.
Experience in high-growth technology environments; familiarity with blockchain, cryptography, or web3 is a strong plus.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to write for executives, manage media relationships and communicate clearly in complex and regulated environments.
Ability to craft and executive a communication vision that aligns with both short- and long-term organizational goals.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with a sharp ability to translate complex or technical ideas into accessible, impact narratives.
Strong understanding of how to engage press, analysts, and influencers in a way that builds credibility.
Proven ability to effectively lead, coach, and inspire team members at all levels of the organization, across legal, technical, and leadership teams.
Calm under pressure with experience navigating high-stress or time-sensitive communication needs.
Well-versed in diverse marketing disciplines and comfortable taking on a variety of roles as needed.
Deep understanding of varied audiences, including developers, web3 communities, regulators, partners, and internal stakeholders, and how to tailor messaging for impact.
