About Working Families Party
We build a political home across states and communities. We organize outside the traditional two-party system, recruiting and training candidates to run in elections from city council to the U.S. Senate. Our candidates may run through Democratic Party primaries or independently.
For over two decades, we have elected leaders and organized for policy victories like higher wages, criminal justice reform, and campaign finance regulation. Our work involves electoral programs, voter turnout, leadership development, and grassroots organizing. We manage regional activities, coordinate campaigns, build activist bases, and develop regional political strategies.
We also support internal functions like safety, security, fundraising, and brand development. We engage hundreds of thousands of supporters nationwide through state chapters and local branches.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to build a country where everyone can thrive. We fight for an America that works for the many, not the few. We are a multiracial party committed to achieving freedom and equality for all.
We believe most people want to earn enough to thrive, secure a better future for their children, access healthy food and clean water, live in safe neighborhoods, and experience freedom. We aim to counteract systems where wealth and power are concentrated, addressing issues like underfunded schools, undermined community services, and restricted workers’ rights.
We strive to unite people across their differences to create a better future, fighting for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. A core value is our commitment to equity and inclusion. A dedicated department fosters a healthy, safe, secure, and productive work environment where employees feel agency in shaping the culture. We emphasize movement-building and people-centered approaches to our work.
