As a Senior Data & AI Platforms Engineer, you will join a small, high-performing team dedicated to building a robust, scalable, and modern data ecosystem. You will partner closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to design data solutions that power analytics, operational insights, and product innovations.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys end-to-end ownership, and brings a deep understanding of both data systems and business context. Long-term, platform-based thinking is highly desirable. We want to build systems that solve the problems of tomorrow, not just the fires sprouting today.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, S3, Glue, orchestrators, and custom Python jobs
  • Manage and optimize data models in dbt, ensuring they are scalable, accurate, and aligned to business use cases
  • Collaborate with analytics and commercial teams to design models and marts in our visualization tools that empower decision-making
  • Integrate and transform data from a variety of sources, including AuroraDB, Snowflake Postgres, MySQL, and DynamoDB
  • Uphold data quality through testing, validation, and observability best practices
  • In the future, mentor junior team members and contribute to evolving our data engineering standards and processes
  • Partner with stakeholders to deeply understand business domains and ensure data design meets real-world needs
  • Mentor and upskill team members
  • Provide enterprise-wide guidance and prototyping on key data initiatives, especially as the data platforms team expands its scope to support production engineering from the warehouse

What You Bring

  • 6–10 years of experience in data engineering or related roles
  • Expert-level skills in SQL (window functions, CTEs, performance tuning) and Python (data pipelines, API integrations, automation)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran
  • Can navigate unix systems, terraform, and git as appropriate
  • Deep familiarity with relational databases ( Postgres, MySQL, AuroraDB) and NoSQL systems like DynamoDB
  • Extremely comfortable using AI tools to boost individual and team productivity
  • Experience building out data platforms for AI Agents / AI Products
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing best practices, and ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and connect technical design with commercial objectives
  • Experience in a high-growth, agile environment with modern data stack tools
  • Exposure to data governance, privacy, and compliance best practices
  • Strong understanding of engineering best practices related to delivery (CI/CD, continuous delivery, change management)
  • Experience with CDC (Change Data Management)
