We're seeking a top-notch Senior Data Engineer to lead the architectural design of our data warehouse, focusing on supercharging data analytics capabilities and optimizing data warehousing cost and runtime.
Requirements
- Have 6+ years industry experience, including 3+ years in a senior Data Engineering role architecting and implementing large-scale enterprise data solutions
- Have expertise in SQL and strong proficiency in at least one major development language (Python or JavaScript preferred)
- Are a technical expert in the data space who questions the status quo, thrives on tackling complex data challenges, and uses challenges as an opportunity to drive innovative solutions across domains
- Demonstrates a track record of creating significant impact by leading projects to improve data quality and optimization
- Have superior ability to independently translate business needs into clearly aligned project requirements, technical designs, and reliable project outcomes
- Focuses on the big picture and demonstrates good judgement, making technical trade-offs between short-term and long-term solutions
- Are exceptional communicator who fosters a collaborative environment, and inspires and mentors' junior engineers
- Are competent understanding and application of domain driven database design principles
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present complex technical ideas in simple terms
- Have product mindset to understand business needs, continuously align on project outcomes, and implement scalable engineering solutions within committed timelines
- Have proven track record of solving complex data engineering challenges in multiple companies and many domains, employing innovative or novel solutions
- Have experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Have a very good command of English (written & spoken)
Responsibilities
- Strategize and iterate on the design of our database architecture, focusing on accuracy, scalability, reliability, usability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Lead the design and implementation of robust and resilient data pipelines from a diverse set of source data by collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
- Mentor data team members by providing technical guidance and championing engineering best practices, security protocols, optimized performance, and data warehouse design
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality data in source systems and foster a culture of data excellence
