About Your Role
Tigera is looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer. You will be joining our Calico Cloud platform engineering team. You will work closely with the other software engineers to deliver high quality products on time while managing and communicating risks. To do this, you will design, implement, and maintain systems related to the Calico Cloud service. The role will be based in Cork city (hybrid).
You Have:
- Extensive Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deployed applications spanning more than 1 public cloud platform.: GCP, Azure, and AWS.
- Experience with scripting in Go (Golang), Python, or shell (bash) scripting.
- Experience with GNU makefiles and Linux internals, and networking.
- Experience with defining and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using tools such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and SemaphoreCI.
- Experience with IaC technologies such as Terraform, Crossplane
- Experience working with Elasticsearch, MongoDB
- Experience with collecting and processing metrics from tools such as Prometheus/Datadog, and can walk teams through setting up SLO and SLA targets.
- Experience with Troubleshooting production issues and doing root cause analysis.
Nice to have:
- Experience working with Pulumi, Kyverno, and Envoy
- Experience with Cloud cost optimization
- Infrastructure and product security experience and knowledge.
- Experience with compliance frameworks like SOC2
You Will:
- Manage a Kubernetes-based platform spanning 100+ clusters in GKE, and AKS.
- Assist development teams with deploying applications and ensuring smooth rollouts.
- Participate in on-call rotation and help remediate issues.
- Maintain Elasticsearch and MongoDB.
- Maintain playbooks for various operational tasks
- Implement and monitor strategies to reduce cloud hosting costs.
- Ensure that the platform is SOC and GDPR compliant.
