Location: Remote (Must Reside in Eastern or Central Time Zones)

Travel Requirements: 4-5 weeks per year

Job Summary

The Staff Platform Engineer has expertise in the implementation and design of software platforms, including infrastructure, methodology, process, and tool stack. In this role, you’ll work to create bring a new product line to the next level using Python and AWS cloud. What You’ll Do

  • Designs, develops, and maintains larger, more complex software spanning multiple technology domains.
  • Identifies cross-cutting concerns within and across service boundaries and implements reusable modules
  • Hands on development of enterprise applications 80% of the time
  • Responsible for stability and scalability of the PatientPoint platform. This encompasses business services and platform agnostic (mobile & web) application endpoints.
  • Develop solutions following established technical design, application development standards and quality processes in projects.
  • Facilitate and lead story breakup and grooming. Drive feature level architecture/design sessions.
  • Increase the level of teams’ technical ability and drive measurable improvement of quality of code.
  • Improve accuracy of development schedules and lowers project risk.
  • Perform detailed reviews on deliverables. Provide technical guidance to the team members.
  • Mentor Junior Individual Contributors, provide oversight of others’ work.

What We Need

  • 8+ years experience in a back-end software engineering role developing enterprise applications.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-based architectures using AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • 2+ years experience developing microservices architecture
  • Advanced proficiency in Python (a coding assessment will be administered)
  • Strong proficiency in working with SQL databases

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Ad Technology platforms and tools
  • Experience in Medical or EHR (Electronic Health Record) technologies
  • Hands-on experience designing or utilizing Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA)
  • Proficient with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of cloud-based security principles, including data encryption, hashing, and secret management
  • Experience with reactive programming and building multi-threaded, high-performance systems
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, DevOps, and Security
  • Experience developing applications using Django
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and ReactJS for front-end development
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers

Base Salary Band: $140,296.00 - $219,608.00
