Position Details

  • United States- Remote/Telecommute
  • 8:00 am-5:00 pm Est.
  • Equipment and hardware provided. Interviewing, orientation, and training are conducted virtually.

The PMO Leader will:

  • Play a critical role in defining and executing the PMO’s mission, vision, and structure
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment, scope definition, risk management, and timeline reporting
  • Ensure clear, transparent communication across business, technical, and executive teams
  • Serve as a bridge between business owners, technical teams, and vendors to drive cross-functional collaboration and project success
  • Be comfortable contributing directly to projects, scaling strategic leadership focus as the company and PMO expand
  • Have subject matter expertise in project management and business analysis, mentoring the team, utilizing their strengths, and guiding the development of processes
  • Complete all necessary continued learning and training requirements per department and company needs
  • Other essential duties as assigned

Responsibilities and Duties

PMO Development and Governance

  • Develop and implement the PMO structure, processes, standards, and methodologies
  • Establish project management frameworks, tools, templates, and scalable governance models
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure PMO effectiveness and project success
  • Conduct regular project audits and assessments to evaluate resource needs, risks, and process adherence
  • Maintain a centralized project portfolio, including project pipeline, resource allocation, and status tracking
  • Promote and integrate project management best practices, including Agile, Shape-Up, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies

PMO Leadership and Execution

  • Lead the planning, requirements-gathering, execution, and delivery of critical strategic and technical projects
  • Manage the project lifecycle through project initiation, scope definition, risk management, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality and business expectations
  • Align project priorities with organizational goals in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead the team’s business analysis function, ensuring best practices in requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, etc.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

  • Act as a key liaison between business owners, technical teams, and vendors
  • Ensure clear, transparent communication across business, technical, and executive stakeholders
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle to manage expectations and resolve issues

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing team of Project Managers and Business Analysts
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth
  • Provide coaching, career development support, and regular performance feedback to team members

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7-10+ years of project management experience, with at least
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or rebuilding a PMO or delivery framework
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Hands-on experience leading cross-functional, enterprise-scale projects
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, or MS Project)

Preferred:

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification
  • Experience managing Business Analysts or folding the BA function into the PMO
  • Background working in a SaaS, healthcare, or regulated environment (if applicable)

Work From Home Requirements

The employee must provide reliable, high-speed internet with sufficient bandwidth (25/25mp) to execute all job functions.  Additionally, the employee must have a private workspace with a desk and chair, free from distraction.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Duties are performed primarily in a home office using company-provided computer equipment.  While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly sit and talk.  The employee is frequently required to use their hands.  Employees will occasionally be required to stand and walk.
