Job Description
One of the projects is an initiative to standardize and improve agronomic data management across plant breeding stations. The system ensures data consistency, regulatory compliance, and supports planning tools, spraying timers, and automated notifications to enhance field decision-making.
The second project involves developing a new tool to digitize breeding-related field activities together with the development team. It targets complex technical challenges and requires mid/senior-level engineering skills with strong TypeScript and Angular knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Design scalable solutions: Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using .NET for the backend and Angular for the front end, with a focus on performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Deliver high-quality code: Implement solutions following best practices in clean code, testing, and performance optimization, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable codebase.
- Support modern deployment practices: Work closely with DevOps teams to containerize and deploy applications using modern tooling and integrate CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and automated delivery.
- Leverage modern architecture: Utilize asynchronous, event-driven, and modular architectural patterns where appropriate to build robust, decoupled, and future-proof systems.
- Optimize data interactions: Design and maintain efficient relational database integrations, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and responsiveness across the stack.
- Contribute to strong engineering standards: Actively engage in architectural discussions, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices to uphold strong engineering principles and maintain technical excellence within the team.
- Mentor and grow the team: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, foster a collaborative and supportive team culture, and drive continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- 4+ years of experience in backend software development using .NET frameworks (ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core), with strong proficiency in C#
- Strong knowledge of web technologies including TypeScript, CSS, and Angular and mobile technologies (e.g. hybrid solutions or PWA)
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, combined with solid knowledge of relational database systems such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
- Solid grasp of software development best practices, including clean code principles, testing strategies, and Agile methodologies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to define and meet deadlines in a multicultural team
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of GIS software (e.g. ESRI, Leaflet, Mapbox) and GIS data management
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines
- Experience with DevOps platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jira, GitLab etc.
- Message Queue Systems, e.g. RabbitMQ
- Experience with Docker and non-relational database systems like MongoDb
- Familiarity with Material Design guidelines
- German skills
