About the role
The Documents team at Coalition owns and operates the central engine responsible for generating all essential insurance documents for our policyholders, brokers, and internal teams. Our mission is to empower our internal template creators and support specialists with fast, intuitive tools to build and manage the documents that run our business.
The platform integrates critical policy data, complex template logic, and dynamic regulatory requirements to produce millions of accurate, high-quality, and compliant documents.
In this role, you’ll be writing the backend services and architecting the distributed systems that apply this complex business logic at scale. Your work will directly enhance the velocity of our internal partners, improve platform reliability, and ensure our business can move forward with speed and confidence.
Our platform is composed of highly-reliable, scalable services. We prioritize selecting the most suitable tools for each challenge and make pragmatic architectural decisions to decouple systems and support our rapid growth. You’ll work on an extremely cross-functional team, collaborating closely with product, underwriting, data, and compliance to ensure our platform is a strategic enabler for the entire organization
Responsibilities
- Writing scalable and clean code, write unit and integration tests, ship with high quality and confidence
- Create alerts, monitors and dashboards to ensure operational stability and observability
- Lead small projects independently or work with a team of engineers for medium-large projects, collaborating with stakeholders

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $136,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,737/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee’s pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
