To foster team connection and collaboration, this role requires being present in either our Santa Barbara or San Francisco office up to once per quarter for team meetings and off-sites. As such, we are only considering candidates who are currently based in California.
We’re looking for someone excited to champion user insights and drive value by exploring user behavior and feedback, masterfully demo and understand product facets within the Ontra ecosystem, strategically prioritize innovative features while staying ahead of industry trends, and lead a team in delivering seamless, well-designed user experiences.
If you are a highly empathetic Senior User Experience Designer who thrives on user-focused design and collaborates seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, we’d love to get to know you!

- Team Leadership: Empower and guide team members to deliver exceptional user experiences, ensuring alignment on customer problems to solve and celebrating team achievements.
- UX Design and Innovation: Utilize the design system effectively to streamline UI, leverage AI for optimizing task efficiency, and engage in rapid prototyping for quick iteration and validation.

What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 5+ years in user experience design.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand and focus on the rationale and outcomes behind design work.
- User Research: Experience in conducting user research, leading calls, and utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to guide UX decisions.
- Prototyping Skills: Proficiency in creating prototypes, with experience in tools such as Figma, Axure, or similar platforms being an advantage.
- Systematic Design: Ability to design with a component library and usability best practices in mind.
- User-Centered Focus: Emphasis on creating simple, intuitive, and easy-to-use experiences rather than focusing on flashy, creative UI.
- Agile Collaboration: Experience working in an agile environment, with flexibility and ability to collaborate across various teams.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Strategic Design Partner: Collaborate with an empowered product team to directly influence the product’s strategic direction.
- High IQ, high EQ: Partner with high-performing colleagues who are a joy to work with.
- AI Everywhere: You’ll build products with AI at their core, inventing experiences and capabilities that have never before been possible.
- Career Growth: We intentionally develop our teammates and often promote from within. A significant portion of the design team has advanced within Ontra.
- Remote Work: An engaging remote culture with regular team meetups.
