What is The Role:
This opportunity has a direct influence on growing and expanding our education program by facilitating the creation of new content directly aligned with Product and current events. The education materials you build will be used by thousands of people every year!
You will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering scalable, hands-on training solutions for a diverse technical audience. This position focuses on creating instructional content that is publicly accessible, ensuring consistency, instructional soundness, and alignment with organizational guidelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable the production of modular and reusable content in various formats, including asynchronous on-demand, customer workshops, and instructor-led training.
You should possess a strong video recording, editing, and production skills, preferably with experience in creating asynchronous online learning content. This key role involves not only driving the adoption of instructional design best practices across educational content at Elastic, but also aligning them with a range of business objectives and content delivery use-cases, as well as onboarding content authors, securing process and standards adoption, and facilitating content expansion.
A crucial part of this role is defining and enabling our technical content creators across the organization to produce sound instructional videos. You will craft detailed guidelines and processes tailored to accommodate a wide variety of content creators. These guidelines serve as quality assurance for video recording and production standards.
You will be seen as a trusted advisor, guiding content authors toward their desired outcomes, ensuring their success, and ultimately driving deeper engagement with Elastic solutions through educational content.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Manage, maintain, and organize part of the company YouTube channel to ensure content is published, and configured, and tagged, following SEO and company standards
- Cut, arrange, and polish video content, including instructional videos, product videos, and social media content
- Create animations, motion graphics, and special effects to enhance learning experience and help the content authors break down sophisticated technical topics into visual representations
- Design and incorporate text overlays for clarity and accessibility
- Capture and implement feedback from team members and collaborators to continuously improve and refine video content
- Ensure all videos align with brand and instructional design guidelines
- Develop and deliver guidelines, workshops, and recommendations on how to setup and record videos tailored for a diverse audience of engineers who create educational content
- Work with the engineering team, content team, and subject matter experts to improve existing courses
What You Bring Along:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional video editing, preferably in a technical or engineering environment
- Experience in leading and optimizing YouTube channels and other video platforms
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in the Adobe suite: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator
- Ability to manage digital files across multiple projects, formats and project timelines
- Familiarity with agile development processes and collaborative tools and ability to deliver quality content at a rapid pace
- Knowledge of current trends in technology and education
- A capacity to learn new things quickly and express your knowledge in a meaningful way
- A desire to learn as much as possible about the internals and use cases of the Elastic Stack
- Excited to work with a highly distributed team and collaborative environment
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

$106,900—$169,100 USD
The typical salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:
$128,200—$202,700 USD
