As a Site Reliability Engineer – GCP, you’ll be responsible for managing and optimizing our infrastructure in the cloud (Google Cloud), automating key processes, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems. Your expertise will have a direct impact on how our platforms perform and scale. You’ll work cross-functionally with teams across Development, BI, and Security, applying best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and systems administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and GCP services.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
- Automate deployment, testing, and operational workflows using scripting (Shell, Groovy, and optionally Python or PowerShell).
- Manage services within Google Cloud such as Cloud Run, Firebase, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud IAM, Kubernetes (GKE), and BigQuery.
- Oversee security practices: SSL/TLS certificates, KMS, IAM roles, and Cloud Armor.
- Administer and optimize UNIX/Linux systems.
- Troubleshoot system issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with development and data teams to improve platform reliability and automation.
- Maintain tools like SonarQube, Dependency Track, and Nexus
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3–4 years as an SRE, SysAdmin, or DevOps Engineer in cloud environments.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Compute Engine, IAM, Firestore, BigQuery, GKE, etc.).
- IaC: Proficiency in Terraform.
- CI/CD: Advanced Jenkins skills.
- Scripting: Shell and Groovy (required); Python or PowerShell (nice to have).
- OS: strong knowledge in Linux/Unix or BSD systems.
- Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, VPCs, route tables, DNS (Cloud DNS or Route 53), and firewall rules.
- Security: Experience with SSL/TLS, IAM, and KMS.
- Databases: Familiarity with Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), BigQuery, and Firestore.
- Tools: Familiarity with SonarQube, Dependency Track, and optionally Nexus.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with packaging tools (Maven, npm).
- Experience in high-traffic web environments.
- Knowledge of additional orchestration tools (Ansible, Helm).
- Programming beyond scripting (e.g., Python).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Stackdriver, Grafana, or Prometheus.
