Job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and maintaining our modern web applications from conception to deployment. We’re looking for someone who is eager to take ownership, learn new technologies, and contribute significantly to our product’s evolution.

The Role You Will Have:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications across the full stack.
  • Take ownership of tasks from end-to-end, seeing projects through their entire lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate concepts into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
  • Participate actively in an Agile development environment, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Identify and implement solutions to complex technical challenges, demonstrating a curious and proactive approach to learning.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and solutions.

What You Will Bring:

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in software development, specifically working on modern web applications.
  • Proficiency in either JavaScript or Python, with a strong understanding of core language features and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience working with modern web frameworks such as Next.js, Express.js, FastAPI, or equivalent (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js, Django, Flask).
  • Proven ability to own tasks independently and see projects through their full lifecycle.
  • A curious mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow continuously in your role.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

Nice To Have:

  • Demonstrated experience in building and deploying web applications.
  • Containerization technologies like Docker, including using Docker Compose for local development and building production-ready container images.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, leveraging tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD for automated deployments.
  • Experience writing solid unit, integration, and modern end-to-end (E2E) tests using tools like Playwright or Cypress.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $120,600-$180,900 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

System1’s headquarters is located in Marina del Rey, CA with an additional office in Bellevue, WA. Employees near office locations are returning to the office. Location-specific policies and available accommodations will be discussed during the interview process.
