Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have a choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you’re near one), at home or a bit of both, it’s up to you.

About the team
Trust and Safety at Canva is dedicated to safeguarding the community and ensuring a secure and positive user experience. The specialty encompasses several teams, including Abuse Insights, Account Integrity, Content Safety, Privacy Compliance and Risk, and Safety & Trust Operations (STOP). Their mission is to make Canva the world’s most trusted company for safe design by 2026. They focus on combating fraud, harassment, offensive content, and spam through effective moderation policies, proactive measures, and continuous improvement.
Account integrity at Canva, part of the Trust & Safety group, ensures the security and trustworthiness of user accounts by preventing and mitigating fraudulent activities, bots, abuse, and unauthorised access. We are dedicated to continuously improving security measures and preventing future threats by collaborating with other teams and stakeholders, maintaining communication, and regularly updating strategies and action plans.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with various specialties in the team, FE, BE, MLE, and PM to design, plan, build, and maintain features owned by the Account Integrity team
- Work with various teams across Trust and Safety to understand and solve Trust and Safety challenges across Canva
- Contribute to long-term strategies and roadmaps for Trust and safety challenges
- Communicating with stakeholders to assess requirements, align timelines, and optimise for customer value.
You’re probably a match if
- You have three-plus (3+) years of commercial experience developing complex applications in Java
- You have a collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with teammates
- You have strong fundamentals in computer science and engineering, including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, and solution design
- You have experience designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, large-scale Java backend systems
- You have a problem-solving mentality and a passion for finding innovative solutions
- Not essential, but prior experience in Trust and safety is highly valued
