You’ll join one of our high-impact squads (Wireless or Porting) where you’ll architect solutions for massive scale, own technical decisions that ripple across our entire platform, and see your work directly impact how the world communicates.
The Impact You’ll Drive
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’re not just writing code—you’re solving problems that affect millions of users and shaping the future of communications technology. You’ll design systems that need to be fast, reliable, and scalable from day one, because downtime isn’t an option when you’re powering critical infrastructure.
You’ll own big technical decisions. From API design to database architecture, your expertise will guide how we scale our platform to handle exponential growth.
You’ll build across the entire stack. Debug production issues that span multiple services, collaborate with teams across the company, and see your solutions deployed to systems processing massive real-time traffic.
You’ll shape our engineering culture. Improve standards, introduce new tools, and mentor other engineers while working with some of the most talented people in distributed systems.
What You’ll Work With
Core Stack: Elixir/Erlang, PostgreSQL, microservices architecture Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Jenkins, Prometheus Data & Messaging: RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, ETS, Mnesia Scale: Millions of daily transactions, global distributed systems
What We’re Looking For
6+ years of backend engineering experience with functional programming languages (Elixir/Erlang strongly preferred)
Database expertise at scale - You understand how to design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational databases handling high-volume traffic
Distributed systems mastery - You know microservice patterns inside and out, including when to use them and when not to
Concurrency comfort - You’ve wrestled with the challenges of distributed programming and know how to build systems that stay consistent under pressure
Production mindset - You’ve debugged complex issues across multiple services and know what it takes to keep systems running smoothly
