As the Strategic Sourcing Manager in Telix’s Global Procurement team, you will lead both strategic and tactical sourcing activities worldwide, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while driving cost savings, efficiency, and supplier innovation. This role involves developing and executing a global sourcing framework that supports long-term business goals, and you must be willing to roll up your sleeves to not only establish this framework but also drive its execution across the organization. You will oversee the end-to-end sourcing process, including vendor selection, cost analysis, contract negotiation, ensuring compliance, and performance analytics. The successful candidate will build a foundation of sourcing excellence that delivers measurable savings while positioning the procurement function as a strategic business partner driving long-term value creation across the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with business goals and maximize value
- Conduct market research and spend analysis to identify suppliers, trends, opportunities, and risks in the supply market
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and competitive bidding events for key suppliers across all categories (IT, raw materials, services, direct, indirect, etc.) from opportunity identification through contract implementation
- Design, develop, and execute global RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) to drive high-quality, cost-effective decision making and ensure optimal supplier selection and commercial terms
- Conduct market research and competitive analyses to identify optimal sourcing approaches and supplier partners
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve optimal terms and conditions
Systems Implementation & Support
- Lead end-to-end implementation of e-procurement systems (e.g., Coupa Sourcing, and Analytics modules)
- Support user adoption through training, documentation, and responsive troubleshooting
- Identify sourcing and procurement process improvements that enhance efficiency and data quality
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and architect system configurations that align with business objectives
- Advise and deploy SaaS and Cloud Contract solutions
Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain procurement dashboards and reports that provide meaningful insights into spending, cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement activities
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, savings opportunities, and potential risks
- Deliver a categorized supplier master list with ownership and routing clarity
- Continuously monitor market conditions, regulatory and geopolitical risk, and industry trends to inform strategic procurement decisions
- Create reporting that translates procurement data into strategic business insights with clear recommendations
Team & Organizational Collaboration
- Foster collaborative relationships across departments to ensure adherence to the sourcing process
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and architect sourcing solutions that align with business objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, refine, and implement procurement processes, policies, and systems that align with organizational goals, while embedding robust governance and compliance controls to ensure integrity in supplier relationships
- Engage in continuous learning to expand technical skills and procurement knowledge, sharing insights with the broader team
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field required. Master’s preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, PMP, GxP, Regulatory Affairs Certifications) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a strategic sourcing role
- Proven experience in building and developing procurement functions, particularly within a rapidly growing organization
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management in a global environment
- Experience working in complex, global matrix organizations, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders across different regions and business functions
- Strong track record in cost optimization, achieving cost savings targets, and risk management in procurement activities
- Familiarity with procurement software and systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa) and data analytics tools to drive decision-making
- Experience managing direct and indirect categories, with a strong understanding of industry best practices and market trends
