Entrata Software is seeking a dynamic Utility Auditor to join our team in Lehi, Utah/Remote. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring meticulous accounts payable practices for utility billing, utilizing your sharp analytical skills and accounting expertise. Your proactive approach to identifying discrepancies, collaborating with utility providers, and adhering to industry standards will play a pivotal role in upholding accuracy and excellence in our utility management solutions.

Responsibilities will include

  • Accounting/Financial Knowledge: Apply your in-depth understanding of accounting principles to meticulously audit utility consumption data and billing statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Critical Thinking: Employ sharp critical thinking skills to identify anomalies, discrepancies, and potential errors in utility billing records and data.
  • Problem Solving: Be a proactive problem solver, investigating and resolving billing discrepancies and consumption data anomalies swiftly and effectively.
  • Self-Starter: Take ownership of the utility auditing process, independently initiating audits, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing process enhancements.
  • Accounts Payable Practices: Play a key role in meticulous accounts payable practices by validating utility billing information, tracking invoices, and ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Utility Provider Collaboration: Interact and collaborate with utility providers to validate billing data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize your data analysis skills to generate comprehensive reports and actionable insights regarding utility usage, costs, and trends.
  • Collaborative Communication: Engage in effective communication with clients, utility providers, and internal stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns with clarity and professionalism.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay at the forefront of utility regulations and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Innovative Approaches: Contribute your innovative mindset to the development and improvement of utility auditing procedures, continuously optimizing processes.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, auditing, or related roles, showcasing your attention to detail and accounting proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools, harnessing data for accurate audits and insightful reporting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal.  Ability to connect with people across departments.
  • Critical Thinking Champion: Demonstrated ability in critical thinking and problem-solving, evident through your track record of resolving complex discrepancies.
  • Self-Starter Mindset: Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Property Management Insight: Previous experience in the property management or real estate industry, offering familiarity with industry-specific utility practices.
  • Utility Billing Software Knowledge: Familiarity with utility billing systems and software, enabling efficient data management and analysis.
  • Utility Industry Standards: Knowledge of utility industry standards and best practices, ensuring accurate and compliant utility billing practices.
  • Regulatory Familiarity: Familiarity with utility regulations and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Invoice Interpretation: Ability to interpret utility invoices and contracts, applying your analytical skills to ensure precision.
  • Certification Advantage: Certification in auditing or related fields (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Utility Auditor), showcasing your commitment to excellence.

$17.07 - $26.68 an hour

This band covers the full salary range for the role. Your offer within this range will depend on factors like experience, skills, and internal equity.

Currently, Entrata hires in Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Illinois for Exempt roles and Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Texas, North Carolina, and Florida for Non-Exempt roles.
