We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated VP, Global Market Access, to help advance our mission to liberate autoimmune patients through the curative potential of cell therapy.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the biotech/pharma industry and proven market access strategy and leadership experience, plus a strong scientific, financial and commercial acumen while living our core values: bring intellectual humility, elevate each other, and stay true to why.

Title: VP, Global Market Access

Reporting to: Chief Business Officer

Location: Emeryville, CA (hybrid twice a week) or Remote (west coast hours)

Responsibilities

  • Lead Kyverna’s Market Access strategy and activities across the product portfolio, spanning from early product development through commercialization.
  • Develop and implement Market Access, Pricing and Value Demonstration strategies and go-to-market plans with a focus on KYV-101 launch in the US.
  • Design and build a best-in-class U.S. Market Access organization including field payor, patient and channel operations and pricing/contracting teams.
  • Develop and implement payer/health system engagement plan, buy-and-bill and hub support models and benefit verification/prior authorization strategies for KYV-101.
  • Lead the development and communication of differentiated KYV-101 value messaging and overarching clinical, economic and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) value proposition to payers and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop pricing and reimbursement strategies and associated engagement / submission approach to secure access and value-based coverage and pricing for KYV-101 across commercial and government payers.​
  • Responsible for development of global Market Access strategies working with ex-US teams and/or external partners on global pricing strategy and value messaging.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs team to develop of cross-functional evidence generation plans to support payer/health system value of KYV-101.
  • Partner with trade and distribution team to optimize site-of-care strategy and provider logistics for cell therapy delivery.
  • Partner with functional leaders to ensure integration of Market Access, Pricing and Value Demonstration strategies and tactics into commercialization and product development plans.
  • Contribute to development of comprehensive launch roadmap with various functions including Regulatory, Manufacturing, Medical Affairs and Commercial teams.
  • Engage regularly with Kyverna Leadership Team to ensure organizational readiness and align on Market Access-related strategies, resources and milestones.
  • Select and manage key external Market Access advisors and consultants to support various activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in life sciences, business/finance or related field required.
  • 15+ years of market access, pricing, health economics, or related fields with a significant commercial track record in the US; cell and/or gene therapy experience is critical.
  • Deep knowledge of US reimbursement and healthcare policy landscape relevant to cell therapies, including CMS, Medicare Part B/D, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Proven leadership in launching complex therapies in rare or specialized treatment settings (e.g., hospital-administered, specialty distribution, or provider buy-and-bill models).
  • Experience driving market access and pricing strategies, HEOR and customer facing teams/organizations, developing value story and evidence generation plans to support new product launches.
  • Strong network and relationships within the biopharma industry including pricing and reimbursement stakeholders, thought leaders, vendors and consultants.
  • Excellent communication, oral presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter thrives in a fast-paced, fluid, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment, while working effectively in cross functional teams.

$290,000 - $350,000 a year

The salary range for this position nationally is from $290,000 to $350,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation location, individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  This position is also eligible for bonus, benefits, and participation in Company’s stock option plan.
