UltraViolet Cyber is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with global offices across the U.S. and in India.

Seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Cybersecurity to lead three critical cybersecurity functions — Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Operations & Incident Response, and Security Engineering — each currently managed by an established Director. This role will be responsible for translating the findings of an in-progress NIST cybersecurity framework analysis into actionable project plans, setting measurable objectives, and driving execution across all teams.

The ideal candidate is a strategic cybersecurity leader with a proven track record of building operating models, establishing OKRs, and delivering large-scale security initiatives within Fortune 500 environments. While this role is primarily remote, the selected candidate will be expected to travel periodically to meet with stakeholders and teams.

Work Environment & Travel

Must be able to work across multiple time zones as needed.

US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Required.

This will be a 3-6 month contract with an external customer of UltraViolet Cyber.

  • Program Leadership

  • Translate final NIST analysis findings into comprehensive project plans with clear priorities, milestones, and deliverables to be completed before 2026.
  • Strategic Planning & Governance
  • Develop OKRs and formal operating models for each of the three functional areas in collaboration with their respective Directors.
  • Ensure alignment of all security initiatives with corporate objectives, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Performance Management & Reporting
  • Monitor and track progress against KPIs (already established) and report regularly to the CISO.
  • Implement risk tracking, progress dashboards, and executive-level updates to ensure leadership visibility.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Foster strong relationships with Directors, cross-functional leaders, and senior executives to ensure buy-in and alignment.
  • Travel periodically to company sites for workshops, reviews, and strategic planning sessions.

What You Have:

  • Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity leadership experience, including at least 5 years at the senior executive level.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Operations, Incident Response, and/or Security Engineering functions.
  • Proven success in turning cybersecurity framework assessments (e.g., NIST CSF) into actionable multi-year project plans.
  • Experience establishing OKRs, operating models, and performance tracking mechanisms in large, complex organizations.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience leading leaders.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid/virtual leadership capacity.
