Seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Cybersecurity to lead three critical cybersecurity functions — Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Operations & Incident Response, and Security Engineering — each currently managed by an established Director. This role will be responsible for translating the findings of an in-progress NIST cybersecurity framework analysis into actionable project plans, setting measurable objectives, and driving execution across all teams.
The ideal candidate is a strategic cybersecurity leader with a proven track record of building operating models, establishing OKRs, and delivering large-scale security initiatives within Fortune 500 environments. While this role is primarily remote, the selected candidate will be expected to travel periodically to meet with stakeholders and teams.
Work Environment & Travel
Primarily remote, with occasional travel required for strategic engagements with team members and stakeholders.
Must be able to work across multiple time zones as needed.
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Required.
This will be a 3-6 month contract with an external customer of UltraViolet Cyber.
What You’ll Do:
- Program Leadership
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the three cybersecurity functions: Threat & Vulnerability, Security Operations & Incident Response, and Security Engineering.
- Translate final NIST analysis findings into comprehensive project plans with clear priorities, milestones, and deliverables to be completed before 2026.
- Strategic Planning & Governance
- Develop OKRs and formal operating models for each of the three functional areas in collaboration with their respective Directors.
- Ensure alignment of all security initiatives with corporate objectives, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Performance Management & Reporting
- Monitor and track progress against KPIs (already established) and report regularly to the CISO.
- Implement risk tracking, progress dashboards, and executive-level updates to ensure leadership visibility.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster strong relationships with Directors, cross-functional leaders, and senior executives to ensure buy-in and alignment.
- Travel periodically to company sites for workshops, reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
What You Have:
- Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Experience
- 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity leadership experience, including at least 5 years at the senior executive level.
- Demonstrated experience in leading Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Operations, Incident Response, and/or Security Engineering functions.
- Proven success in turning cybersecurity framework assessments (e.g., NIST CSF) into actionable multi-year project plans.
- Experience establishing OKRs, operating models, and performance tracking mechanisms in large, complex organizations.

- Strong strategic planning and execution abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, including executive reporting and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid/virtual leadership capacity.
