About aiEDU

We are a 501©(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2019. Our mission is to ensure all students are prepared to live, work, and thrive in a world influenced by artificial intelligence. We partner with education systems to improve AI literacy and readiness through various programs.

We develop and deliver curriculum and professional development. These offerings are for educators, including teachers of Computer Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Science, and CTE, as well as administrators and other nonprofits. Our training programs use research-based strategies and educational psychology frameworks to build AI readiness and empower students with AI literacy.

We also form strategic partnerships with states, school districts, and other systems. We collaborate across the K12 ecosystem with partners to integrate AI education. AI literacy involves the skills and knowledge needed to understand, use, and critically evaluate artificial intelligence, helping individuals function effectively in modern society, use AI to achieve goals, and develop their knowledge and career potential.

Mission & Values

Our core mission is to ensure all students are ready to live, work, and thrive in a world where AI is ubiquitous. We aim to advance AI literacy and readiness, advocating for a national effort to redefine skills for an AI-driven future and prevent millions of students from being left behind due to lack of AI education.

Our theory of change involves preparing students by supporting educators, school systems, and families to integrate AI readiness into teaching and learning programs. This includes providing classroom materials, professional support for educators and leaders, and building community support.

Our culture is guided by nine values:

  • Be Real: We value honesty, transparency, delivering on commitments, and authenticity.
  • Follow our north star: We focus on having clear goals, ensuring decisions contribute to those goals, and avoiding distractions.
  • Measure what matters: We define success, use data for decisions, and continuously measure and learn.
  • Ask who’s missing: We emphasize gathering diverse contributions, inclusivity, accessibility, and welcoming all team members, clients, and partners.
  • Empower great work: We encourage employees to take responsibility for their best effort, be proactive in improvements, identify roadblocks, and celebrate achievements.
  • Put People First: We prioritize understanding users and beneficiaries, promoting team well-being and development, and showing gratitude, generosity, empathy, and understanding.
  • Build a sandbox: We foster curiosity, open-mindedness to new ideas, absorption of new knowledge, and humility.
  • Write it down: We focus on documenting processes, decisions, progress, and communicating the rationale behind choices.
  • Be Humble: We encourage employees to approach all tasks with willingness, seek help when needed, and get second opinions on important decisions.
