Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: United Kingdom (site-based / hybrid as required)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
Rate: £50–£55 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering and capital projects within an industrial and manufacturing environment. This role will focus on the design, implementation, and optimisation of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer within an industrial, manufacturing, or process environment
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment design, and plant operations
- Experience with installation and commissioning of industrial machinery or systems
- Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and regulations (e.g., pressure systems, piping, rotating equipment)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience within chemical processing, water treatment, or industrial solutions sectors
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Experience with maintenance and reliability engineering principles
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
