Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Support
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, and access points.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and connectivity issues.
- Provide Level 1⁄2 support for networking incidents, outages, and service requests.
- Assist in maintaining network diagrams, documentation, and topology maps.
Network Administration
- Perform routine network maintenance, updates, and firmware upgrades.
- Manage IP addressing, VLAN configurations, DHCP, DNS, and basic routing setups.
- Support wired and wireless network environments across multiple sites.
- Ensure proper patching, cabling, and physical network organization.
Network Security & Compliance
- Apply basic security configurations including ACLs, port security, and authentication mechanisms.
- Support network monitoring tools to detect anomalies and potential security risks.
- Follow best practices for securing network devices and enforcing corporate policies.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Assist senior engineers in network expansion, migration, or improvement projects.
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and network changes for knowledge sharing.
- Provide recommendations to enhance network stability and performance.
Qualifications & Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ Certification – Required
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Networks, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent technical knowledge is a plus
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching, subnets
Knowledge of network devices (Cisco, HP, Aruba, Mikrotik, etc.)
Experience with Wi-Fi networks and wireless troubleshooting
Basic understanding of firewall functions and internet gateways
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
Hands-on experience with cabling, patching, and structured wiring standards
