This is starting out as a contract position running through July 2026 with strong potential to extend longer or possibly convert to FTE. Job description:
Role Summary
This role supports enterprise cybersecurity engineering and operations with a primary focus on Email Security platforms and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions. The engineer will provide hands-on operational support, incident response, and administration of email security and NAC technologies in a regulated, fast-paced enterprise environment.
Important note: Email Security + NAC experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, implement, and support Email Security and NAC solutions
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate security alerts and incidents
- Manage configurations, policies, and operational activities for assigned security tools
- Support escalations, known issues, and out-of-cycle security requests
- Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams on security technologies
- Assist with upgrades, migrations, DR activities, and security hardening
- Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge base content
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, audits, and compliance activities
- Provide training and operational support to team members
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years overall IT experience
- 2+ years cybersecurity experience
- 2+ years infrastructure experience
Hands-on experience with:
- Email Security tools
- Network Access Control (NAC)
- Host-based security & endpoint protection
- Malware detection & defense technologies
- Linux (RHEL), IBM AIX, Windows Enterprise, macOS
- Vulnerability & patch management
- Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

- IronPort (Cisco Email Security)
- Proofpoint
- FortiNAC
- Cisco ISE
Certifications
- SSCP (required within 6 months of hire) or relevant cybersecurity / technical certification as defined by the hiring manager
Education
Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent related experience
Mandatory skills: Cisco IronPort (Cisco Email Security), Proofpoint, Secure Email Gateway (SEG), FortiNAC and finally Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)
