About the Role
The Senior Director, Pricing is a strategic leadership role responsible for the development, execution, and governance of pricing and contracting strategies that optimize revenue, ensure competitive market access, and maintain compliance across the pharmaceutical portfolio. This role leads to cross-functional collaboration with Market Access, Finance, Legal, Government Pricing, Trade, and Commercial teams to drive sustainable growth across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of US pricing strategies across launch, in-line, and lifecycle products
- Establish pricing governance frameworks to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance
- Oversee WAC, AMP, ASP, and net price strategy impacts
- Provide strategic pricing guidance for pipeline assets, BD evaluations, and scenario modeling
- Define and execute payer contracting strategies across commercial, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and specialty channels
- Oversee negotiation and execution of pre and post deals
- Partner with Trade and Distribution teams on channel strategy and contract alignment
- Ensure contracts align with corporate financial objectives and market access goals
- Lead advanced modeling of rebate structures, formulary positioning, and competitive scenarios
- Provide executive-level insights into pricing risks, opportunities, and trade-offs
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Brand, Market Access, Finance, Legal, Government Pricing, Compliance, and Trade teams
- Support launch readiness by aligning pricing, access, and contracting plans
- Present recommendations to senior leadership and executive governance committees
Required Skills and Experience
- Deep expertise in pharmaceutical pricing, contracting, and payer economics
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
- Executive-level communication and negotiation capabilities
- Strong business judgment with ability to balance risk, compliance, and growth
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrix environment
- 10β15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical pricing, contracting, or market access
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing teams and complex payer negotiations
- Proven experience with commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid pricing dynamics
- Strong understanding of government pricing calculations and GTN management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialty, rare disease, or biologics portfolios
- Exposure to value-based contracting and innovative pricing models
- Experience in mid-size or growth-stage pharma/biotech organizations
