Head of Control Centre / Green Waste Club (GWC)
Location: Hybrid – travel to Stockport and Aylesbury
The role
As Head of Control Centre / Green Waste Club (GWC), you will own and lead the strategic, commercial and operational evolution of our Control Centre proposition across the Group and externally. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, accelerating new product development and embedding scalable, high-performing delivery models that create measurable value for customers and the business.
You will also hold full accountability for the Municipal Green Waste Club portfolio and associated call centre operations, ensuring commercial resilience, operational excellence and a clear, future-focused strategy within a dynamic and evolving market.
This is a unique, senior leadership role with pan-operational influence across Biffa, positioned at the heart of the Municipal division’s growth agenda. Success will be measured through tangible results—revenue growth, margin improvement, innovation delivery, and the creation of a market-leading Control Centre capability that sets the standard across Biffa and the industry.
Your core responsibilities
· Lead the commercial and operational development of the Control Centre.
· Define and own the product portfolio strategy, launching new propositions at pace and scale
· Drive innovation, efficiency and service differentiation, ensuring clear competitive advantage
· Provide end-to-end leadership of the Municipal Green Waste Club (GWC) and call centre operations
· Deliver revenue growth alongside sustainable margin improvement
· Establish robust performance management, reporting and insight for senior stakeholders
· Translate strategy into fully costed, risk-assessed delivery plans with clear accountability
Our essential requirements
· Significant experience in commercial management and/or product development
· Strong product, analytical and strategic capability
· Proven leader with excellent stakeholder and communication skills
· Experience operating effectively within complex, matrix organisations
· Pragmatic, innovative and delivery-focused
· Highly analytical, numerate and capable of managing fully costed, risk-assessed projects
