Job Description

Your contribution to something big:

As a R&D Controlling Business Partner, you play a key role in enabling innovation by strengthening transparency, performance, and financial excellence in our R&D environment. Acting at the intersection of technology, finance, and strategy, you work closely with cross-functional and international teams to ensure sustainable business success.

  • Driving Conceptual Development & Performance Management

    • You independently coordinate PDPI (Product Delivery Performance Indicator) controlling within a cross-functional network.

    • You further develop and optimize controlling concepts in your area of responsibility, with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

    • You enhance project steering dashboards and data quality, working closely with the Project Management Office(PMO) and Business Units and leveraging existing systems and processes.

  • Strategic Business Partnering & Challenging Insights

    • You act as a trusted Business Partner for central R&D functions, serving as the main contact for all commercial and controlling-related topics.

    • You proactively challenge project assumptions and calculations, particularly regarding profitability, efficiency, and strategic alignment.

    • You define, track, and analyze commercial OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), enabling data-driven decisions and continuous performance improvements.

  • Governance & Standards

    • You act as the governor of the R&D project calculation template, ensuring alignment with central guidelines, standards, and best practices.

    • You contribute to further governance topics and support the definition of new standards within your scope of responsibility.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

Education: University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on Controlling or Finance.

Experience:

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in Controlling, Finance, or Business Partnering, ideally within an R&D or innovation-driven environment.

Know-how:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insights.

  • Confident handling of SAP.

  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and project-based financial steering is a plus.

Working Style and Methods:

  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional and international teams.

  • High affinity for data, processes, and continuous improvement.

Languages: Very good English skills (written and spoken).
