Job Description
Your contribution to something big:
- Review and validate historical tariff classifications across a wide range of materials, components, finished goods, and spare parts in alignment with customs regulations;
- Prepare, document, and execute classification corrections following internal guidelines and legal requirements;
- Support remediation activities in customs systems together with governance teams and subject matter experts;
- Contribute to building and maintaining high‑quality tariff classification master data to prevent future inconsistencies;
- Collaborate closely with Foreign Trade, Governance, and international teams to ensure alignment, transparency, and traceability of corrective actions;
- Work with colleagues across multiple countries to support consistent global trade compliance;
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, tariff updates, and classification rules relevant for compliance and remediation work.
Qualifications
What distinguishes you:
- Education: Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in trade compliance, tariff classification, customs operations, product engineering, or related areas;
- Experience supporting audits, corrections, or data remediation activities is an advantage.
- Know‑how:
- Basic to solid understanding of customs regulations and tariff classification principles;
- Ability to analyze product information, technical documentation, and historical data;
- Familiarity with ERP and customs systems such as SAP, GTS, or MIC is a plus;
- Understanding of global trade processes and import/export documentation is beneficial.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required; German is an advantage.
- Working Style and Methods:
- Reliable, detail‑oriented, and structured working style;
- Comfortable handling repetitive, high‑volume analytical tasks with accuracy and consistency;
- Ability to follow defined processes and documentation standards;
- Strong team player who enjoys working in an international environment.
- Personality:
- Motivated, responsible, and committed to contributing to compliant and high‑quality customs operations.
