Job Description

Your contribution to something big:

As Team Leader Packaging, you will play a central role in ensuring efficient, reliable, and sustainable packaging operations across the supply chain. You will lead a team of 8 associates responsible for packaging development, packaging planning, and returnable packaging management — ensuring that packaging solutions support production, logistics, and customer delivery performance.

Your key responsibilities include:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coordinate, and develop a team of 8 associates across packaging development, planning, and returnable packaging management.
  • Set priorities, distribute workload, and ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Promote ownership, accountability, and professional growth through coaching, training, and constructive feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative, safe, and improvement‑driven team culture.

Packaging Development

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of packaging concepts for new and existing products.
  • Ensure packaging solutions meet operational, cost, quality, and sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, suppliers, and purchasing to optimize packaging design and material usage.

Packaging Planning

  • Ensure the availability of packaging materials to support production and customer deliveries.
  • Monitor packaging demand, plan stock levels, and mitigate risks related to shortages or supply disruptions.
  • Support data‑driven decision making through KPI monitoring and performance analysis.

Returnable Packaging Management

  • Oversee the circulation, tracking, and inventory control of returnable packaging assets.
  • Maintain accurate balances with suppliers and customers.
  • Ensure efficient flows, proper stock levels, and continuous improvement of returnable packaging processes.

Continuous Improvement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize packaging processes and reduce operational waste.
  • Ensure adherence to packaging standards and support audits or process reviews.
  • Work closely with logistics, production, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to ensure alignment and smooth operational execution.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in packaging management, packaging development, supply chain, logistics operations, or material flow management.
  • Experience in team coordination or leadership is an advantage.

Know‑how

  • Strong knowledge of packaging development, optimization, and planning.
  • Experience with returnable packaging management and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen).
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).

Languages

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Additional languages are a plus.

  • Structured, analytical, and detail‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
