We develop privacy and security-focused web products. Our core product is the Brave web browser, available on desktop and iOS. It’s built on Chromium and includes features like ad and tracker blocking.

We also run a search engine and an Ads Rewards Ecosystem, which changes how advertising works on the web. Our product line includes premium desktop products like Brave VPN. We constantly work to improve web speed, safety, and privacy for our users, who now number over 100 million.

Our development involves a broad range of technologies: C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, WebKit, and CoreData for browser development; and web technologies like Hugo, Tailwind, Svelte, and SvelteKit for web properties such as brave.com. We work in technical areas such as AI privacy and security, on-device machine learning, privacy-preserving machine learning, confidential computing, and system performance evaluations.

Our engineers maintain, debug, and quickly fix adblock rules, counter adversarial websites, and ensure optimal blocking performance, which impacts the web broadly. We focus on integrating new products and enhancing existing browser features to create better user experiences.

We are a fully remote and geographically distributed team. We have no mandatory meetings and a low-meeting culture, emphasizing autonomous and asynchronous collaboration. While our team is primarily remote, we have occasional offices and gatherings in a few global locations.
