Job Description
We are looking for a Senior MEP Tender Engineer who will join the estimating team and contribute to the preparation and coordination of technical proposals for complex building projects.
You will be involved in the early phases of project development, supporting the preparation of competitive and technically sound tender submissions. Your role focuses on the analysis, coordination, and estimation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations within multidisciplinary construction tenders.
In this multidisciplinary role, you coordinate the technical evaluation of MEP systems across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing disciplines, ensuring alignment between technical requirements, project execution strategies, and cost estimation.
Your Contribution
- Analyze tender documentation including specifications, drawings, technical diagrams, and contractual requirements related to MEP installations
- Develop a clear understanding of project requirements and translate them into an effective technical and estimation strategy
- Request, review, and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for MEP equipment and installations
- Prepare cost estimates based on selected technical solutions, construction methods, and supplier offers
- Establish comparative analyses of subcontractor and supplier proposals to support internal decision-making
- Contribute to internal tender review meetings and support the finalization of project pricing
- Identify potential value engineering opportunities and propose technical alternatives for MEP installations
- Evaluate project risks and opportunities to determine the most efficient execution approach
- Ensure coordination between MEP trades and other technical disciplines involved in the project
- Maintain technical communication with suppliers, subcontractors, engineering consultants, and other stakeholders during the tender phase
- Participate in technical clarification meetings when required
- Prepare and consolidate final tender documentation for submission
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP tendering or estimating within construction or building engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, preferably with experience in HVAC installations
- Ability to analyze complex technical documentation and translate requirements into accurate cost estimations
- Experience coordinating technical interfaces between multiple engineering disciplines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying alternative solutions
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams while maintaining ownership of assigned tenders
- Well-organized with the ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic project environment
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent in English with good command of French and Dutch
