About Caldera
Founded in 2022, we offer a platform for web3 teams to deploy and manage custom, high-performance rollups on Ethereum. Our platform lets projects launch a rollup with a single click. We handle deployment, customization, ongoing maintenance, and security, so you don’t need a dedicated engineering team for these tasks. This approach helps Ethereum scale horizontally.
Our platform has two main parts: the Rollup Engine and the Metalayer. The Rollup Engine is a modular operating system that helps launch custom chains using frameworks like Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and ZKsync. Teams can build with Arbitrum Nitro, the OP Bedrock Stack, or the ZKSync Stack. You can also customize data availability using options such as Arbitrum’s Anytrust, Avail, Celestia, or Ethereum DA. Espresso’s Confirmation Network provides composability.
The Metalayer connects all chains within our ecosystem. It offers shared liquidity, cross-chain interactions, and secure, intent-based bridging. Our goal is to unify fragmented networks into an “Internet of Chains.” The product suite also includes Caldera Bridge Preview, Metatoken, and a Stablecoin Module.
Our infrastructure provides 99.99% uptime and low-latency global access. It’s protected from attacks and has been audited by a cloud security firm. We offer 24⁄7 support and scale our infrastructure based on usage.
The platform supports various app categories. For Gaming, we enable zero-fee gameplay, instant cross-chain asset transfers, and scalable Web3 games with low fees and NFT minting. For AI, we help deploy decentralized AI LLMs, protocols, or agents with high-performance infrastructure and low-cost operations. In DeFi, we support compliant, high-throughput applications with cross-rollup liquidity and KYC facilitation via Metalayer.
As of today, our ecosystem includes over 75 chains, 17 million unique wallets, more than 550 million transactions, and over $1 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL). Notable chains include Manta Pacific, inEVM by Injective, ApeChain, Treasure, Plume Network, Towns, Kinto, RARI Chain, and Zero Network by Zerion.
Frequently Asked Questions
Caldera provides a platform consisting of the Rollup Engine and the Metalayer. The Rollup Engine allows web3 teams to deploy, customize, and maintain high-performance, dedicated rollups with a single click, handling deployment, customization, maintenance, and security. The Metalayer is an interoperability protocol that connects these rollups, enabling shared liquidity, cross-chain interactions, and secure bridging. The product suite also features Caldera Bridge Preview, Metatoken, and a Stablecoin Module.
Caldera enables scaling through its platform by allowing projects to deploy dedicated rollups, facilitating horizontal scaling on Ethereum. The Rollup Engine supports customized chain deployment on frameworks like Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and ZKsync, while the Metalayer ensures interoperability and shared liquidity across these interconnected chains, addressing performance limitations.
