Sales Representative Art

🇩🇪 Germany - Remote
💼 Sales🔵 Mid-level

Job description

At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! Whether it’s Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 Car, a Woolly Mammoth’s Skeleton, Lady Gaga’s Jumpsuit or Usain Bolt’s running shoe, we encounter exceptional objects every day.

We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects! Each week we offer over 110,000 unique items in auction , carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 25 million unique objects to date, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by our core values:

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us on this exciting journey!

Catawiki is hiring a Sales Representative to actively win, negotiate and grow strategic art sellers across the DACH region, with a focus on Germany. In this role, you lead commercial discussions with galleries, dealers and artists, structure high-value deals, and take full ownership of a seller portfolio. Your success is measured by GMV growth, deal quality and the strength of long-term partnerships in a key European art market for Catawiki.

Why you’ll enjoy this role

  • Ownership of the German / DACH market: build long-term partnerships with galleries, art dealers and artists across Germany and neighbouring markets.
  • Real commercial responsibility: you own your pipeline and structure commercial incentives for top-tier sellers.
  • Clear impact: you are responsible for KPIs that matter (GMV, sell rate, average lot value) and regularly share results with leadership.
  • Market-facing role with support: budget management for fairs, events and travel to build strong local relationships and competitive intelligence.
  • Straightforward, international culture: clear responsibilities, pragmatic decision-making and room to shape Catawiki’s Art strategy in the DACH region.

What you’ll do

  • Own and grow a portfolio of strategic sellers in Germany and the wider DACH region, with clear medium and long term plans to reach GMV, and quality KPIs.
  • Proactively identify and convert high-value prospects through market mapping, AI data-matching, outbound outreach (email sequencing and cold calling), in-person meetings and presence at fairs and events.
  • Manage pipeline and forecasting: prioritise high-impact opportunities and report expected revenue and conversion. You are comfortable working with data and AI, and using insights to guide decisions.
  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including single-seller auctions and incentive models.
  • Collaborate closely with Art Experts on sourcing, lot selection and sellers strategy

Who you are (minimum requirements)

  • Fluent in German and English.
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales and/or Account Management, in a seller-facing role with revenue targets and KPI ownership.
  • Proven track record in growing revenue/GMV, acquiring strategic sellers and driving outbound business development (pipeline creation, conversion, structured onboarding).
  • Strong negotiation skills, comfortable closing and managing complex commercial deals with senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic and autonomous, with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.

Data-literate, able to translate performance metrics into concrete commercial actions.

  • Clear, structured communicator, effective in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Based in a major German city, able to work fully remote and willing to travel regularly within Europe.
  • Comfortable using CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot), data tools (e.g. Looker Studio), Google Workspace and AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini).

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in the art market (gallery, dealer, auction house or art marketplace).
  • Fluency in a third language.
