Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Animator to embed with our Research and Development team. This unique role bridges the gap between animation production and technology, with a strong focus on data preparation and integrating advanced animation systems into our game engine.
Daily responsibilities
- Collect and prepare high-quality animation datasets for use in prototyping and feature development
- Develop tools and pipelines to automate the data preparation process for animation data.
- Support the Research and Development team with integrating animation models into the game environment.
- Provide technical and animation-related feedback to help achieve AAA animation fidelity.
- Assist with internal animation tool production.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of animation experience with a technical focus.
- Proficient knowledge of Maya, Motion Builder or equivalent 3D animation software.
- Strong understanding of fundamental animation principles with an emphasis on weight and timing.
- Experience in motion capture data processing and cleaning.
- Experience with rigging and character setup.
- Familiarity with game engine integration (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for pipeline development and data manipulation.
- Strong collaboration and problem solving skills.
- Ability to quickly understand and utilize new technology.
- Ability to self-manage when necessary and set sensible priorities.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and data handling.
- At least one AAA title shipped.

Estimated pay range for this position: $127 200 - $190 800 CAD annually
At CD PROJEKT RED compensation for our roles in North America are determined based on competitive market data, geographic location, and individual factors tied to business needs.
