Vice President, PXM Product Management

Job description

Vice President, PXM Product Management

Location: Europe (Germany preferred)

The Opportunity:

This is a pivotal, post-acquisition leadership opportunity for a seasoned executive to take the helm of product management and support for our PXM business unit.

This is a role for a leader who listens first, and who understands that the best products are built by teams that feel heard, valued, and unified.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Own the unified product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the entire PXM and Shopping Feed portfolio, ensuring it aligns with our broader company goals and the needs of our customers. You will be responsible for translating market trends in PXM, including GenAI, Product Data Syndication (PDS), Feed Management Systems (FMS), and Digital Shelf Analytics (DSA), into a compelling and executable roadmap.

  • Team Leadership & Cultural Integration: Lead a global team of product managers and support professionals, acting as the primary cultural bridge-builder between the PXM teams and the broader Centric organization.

  • Champion a “Listen-First” Culture: Foster a collaborative, participative, and consensus-driven product development culture. Your first and most important job is to listen to the team, understand their concerns, and build a path forward together.

  • Strategic Execution: Drive the execution of our “best-in-breed” PXM strategy. Ensure the deep and seamless integration of Shopping Feed into the core PXM offering, creating the game-changing, unified platform that our CEO has committed to.

  • Executive Gravitas & Communication: Serve as a senior product voice for PXM on the world stage, representing our product vision and roadmap with gravitas at industry events, with key customers, and in executive-level discussions.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You are a PXM Domain Expert: You have deep, “in the trenches” experience in the PIM/PXM/e-commerce space, ideally from a larger, more mature software company. You know the players—Akeneo, InRiver, Syndigo, Pimcore—as competitors you have faced and beaten.

  • You are a Post-Merger Integration Veteran: This is not your first acquisition. You have the “scar tissue” from previous M&A integrations and have a proven playbook for unifying disparate teams, cultures, and technologies. You understand the human dynamics of change and know how to navigate them with empathy and strength.

  • You are an Empathetic & Participative Leader: You have a natural “listen-first” leadership style. You build consensus not by avoiding tough decisions, but by ensuring every voice is heard and every perspective is considered. You have the gravitas to build credibility with a highly talented team.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field is required. An MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise software, with at least 7 years in a senior product management leadership role.

Detailed Technical & Product Skills:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmapping:
    • Expertise in developing and communicating a compelling product vision and strategy that aligns with business objectives.
    • Proven ability to translate high-level strategy into a detailed, prioritized, and executable product roadmap using modern tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Productboard).
    • Deep experience with market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer research to inform product decisions.
  • PIM/PXM Domain Expertise:
    • Deep functional knowledge of the PIM/PXM market, including the shift from data management (PIM) to experience management (PXM).
    • Strong understanding of key PXM use cases, including product data syndication (PDS), digital shelf analytics (DSA), and the role of GenAI in content optimization.
    • Familiarity with the competitive landscape, including the strengths and weaknesses of key players like Akeneo, InRiver, Salsify, and Syndigo.
  • Agile & Product Development Methodologies:
    • A master of modern, agile product development processes. You know how to lead a product organization that can ship high-quality software at a predictable cadence.
    • Experience working in a deeply technical environment, with the ability to partner effectively with engineering leaders on architectural decisions, technical debt, and the trade-offs between speed and quality.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • A strong analytical mindset, with a proven ability to use both qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., product usage analytics, customer feedback, market data) to drive product decisions.
    • Experience defining and tracking key product metrics (e.g., adoption, engagement, retention) and using them to measure the success of your initiatives.
  • Enterprise SaaS & Cloud Native Principles:
    • Deep experience in a B2B enterprise SaaS environment, with a strong understanding of the technical and commercial realities of building and selling to large, global organizations.
    • A solid grasp of cloud-native principles and the ability to partner with your technical counterpart to build a product that is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective to operate.
