The Director of Integration Management is responsible for designing, leading, and executing the firm’s post-acquisition integration strategy. This role ensures that every newly acquired firm or team is smoothly onboarded into the organization’s structure, culture, technology, and client service model.

The Director of Integration Management will serve as the central orchestrator between Corporate Development, Operations, Human Capital, Finance, Technology, Legal & Compliance, Marketing, Investment Strategy and the Executive Leadership team, translating M&A strategy into operational reality. Their mission is to build and lead a repeatable, scalable integration playbook that delivers consistent outcomes: employee integration success retention, growth, and cultural alignment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Integration Strategy

  • Design and own the Integration Management Framework.
  • Partner with Corporate Development to participate in due diligence and shape the integration plan pre-close.
  • Lead the Integration Steering Committee to ensure cross-functional visibility and accountability.
  • Define the integration phases (Day 1 readiness, 30/60/90-day plan, and full assimilation), and develop and maintain the Integration Playbook for repeatable success.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Build and lead a small but mighty IMO team capable of managing multiple integrations simultaneously.
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities across departments (Finance, Ops, HR, IT, Marketing) for each integration effort, and provide leadership, coaching, and clarity to cross-functional leads.

Acquisition Process Ownership

  • Develop Day 1 communication and change management plans with Marketing/Communications department.
  • Identify risks and dependencies early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Drive execution of integration plans across all functions (operations, HR, compliance, client service, marketing, and technology).
  • Ensure employee and client transition plans are executed effectively.
  • Track progress against KPIs: client retention, advisor retention, technology migration, and culture metrics.
  • Oversee onboarding of acquired team members, systems, and processes.

Change Management & Culture Integration

  • Serve as a culture ambassador, ensuring the integration process honors Choreo’s values.
  • Develop communication strategies and feedback loops to monitor engagement and sentiment.
  • Partner with HR and Internal Communications to reinforce shared values and leadership alignment.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

  • Analyze outcomes of each integration to refine playbooks and lessons learned.
  • Maintain dashboards and executive reports on integration performance and pipeline health.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in M&A integration, business operations, or program management—ideally in financial services, RIA, or wealth management
  • Bachelors degree required, with a strong project management and process design background (PMP, Lean, or similar certification a plus)
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex integrations concurrently
  • Strong understanding of financial services operations, compliance, and client service models
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, attention to detail and relationship management skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience leading or building an Integration Management Office (IMO) or Post-Merger Integration (PMI) function
  • Deep understanding of RIA M&A dynamics, cultural integration, and advisor transitions
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks (Prosci, ADKAR, etc.)
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to translate strategic goals into operational execution
  • Integrator mindset: structured, steady, operationally grounded
  • Empathic leader who builds trust with acquired teams
  • System thinker who can simplify complexity
  • Cultural translator who balances data with human understanding
  • Results-oriented and relentless about clarity, alignment, and accountability
