About Codasip

Founded in 2014, we are a processor solutions company specializing in custom compute within the semiconductor industry. We deliver custom compute using the open RISC-V ISA, Codasip Studio processor design automation tools, and high-quality processor IP.

We offer customizable RISC-V cores for low-power embedded or application processors. These cores are RISC-V compliant and verified. Codasip Studio is an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool. It uses the CodAL processor description language to let users customize processor designs by modifying their microarchitecture and instruction sets. The tool then generates the necessary production elements. We also implement CHERI technology into our RISC-V cores to protect against out-of-bound memory accesses and enhance security. Our IP hardware development process is certified by TÜV SÜD for functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity engineering (ISO/SAE 21434).

We are a founding member of RISC-V International and the CHERI Alliance. Billions of chips use our technology. Key milestones include securing seed funding in 2015, offering the first commercial RISC-V processor IP in 2018, introducing our first 64-bit RISC-V core in 2019, and completing a Series A investment round in 2020. In 2020, we also joined CHIPSAlliance and received Horizon 2020 funding. We expanded our global footprint by opening design centers in France (2020), the United Kingdom (2021), and Greece and Spain (2022). In 2022, we acquired Cerberus, a UK company focused on secure IoT products. We have a global presence with design centers across Europe and sales offices in the Americas and Asia.

Mission & Values

We help technology innovators develop products through custom compute, enabling them to “design different” and “architect their ambition.” We are passionate about differentiation.
