- This role is responsible for developing and maintaining sustainable long-term relationships with our clients and prospects globally, with an emphasis on the United States. The responsibility extends to identifying and converting revenue opportunities and project pipeline creation for Control Risks intelligence & analysis services, with a particular focus on Geopolitical Advisory and Retained Services.
- The Global Risk Analysis Director, Geopolitical Strategic Advisory, will contribute to researching market needs in the geopolitical advisory space, developing product and service offerings, and formulating a go-to-market strategy for advisory and retained service offerings.
- The candidate should be a proven salesperson / relationship manager with a broad range of experience working in an international consulting firm that advises clients on geopolitical, integrity, or security issues. Expertise in managing accounts for a global service provider and a solid business development track record are a must.
- The candidate is expected to bring a strong network of existing buyer contacts from the government relations / public affairs / strategy functions of MNCs and financial services firms – especially those based in Washington DC. The ideal candidate will be already well known in the political risk and geopolitical advisory industry and relevant professional associations.
Role tasks and responsibilities
Contribute actively to market research, product and service development and delivery.
Create and execute a business development strategy in collaboration with global I&A leadership and geomarket partners to ensure that we have a coordinated go to market approach that is focused on strategic growth areas.
Manage and grow the account management portfolio within the region to meet or exceed (individual) budgeted targets.
Maintain and grow active relationships with colleagues, industry experts, clients, and prospects.
Take ownership of cash collection for your clients by ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and chasing debts promptly.
Build confidence in talking about the various services, solutions, tools and technology offerings within our business.
Provide commercial support for proposals, scoping and pricing and work closely with consultants in our offices around the world.
Keep our CRM system up to date with relevant information. Actively monitor and report on new sales in our geomarket to ensure they are properly recorded, converted, and invoiced.
Attend industry and content related events and support Control Risks-led events for our most relevant buyer groups.
Inspire and develop our global analysts and consultants through your interactions with them on projects and business development.
Academic or professional training in security/political risk and/or political analysis
Solid experience in selling to and holding existing relationships within major clients across a variety of industries.
Experience selling and serving both bespoke consulting, advisory, and research projects as well as subscription or recurring revenue services, products, and retainers.
Experience in defining buyer and user groups and their needs, designing profitable and scalable solutions, and bringing those products and services to market.
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sales leads in parallel while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Experience in generating a pipeline and achieving sales targets
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
Proven ability to meet internal/external deadlines, ask, listen and respond adequately as well as learn and demonstrate initiative
Client first mentality, strive to develop solutions with and for our clients
The base salary range for this position is $180,000-$205,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
