Job description
Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.
Essential Job Duties
BambooHR is on a mission to set people free to do great work. We’re looking for a curious, motivated Product Management Intern to join our Product Team and gain hands-on experience building meaningful software solutions to our customer’s biggest pain points.
This internship is an opportunity to learn how great products are discovered, designed, and delivered at scale. You’ll work closely with experienced product managers, designers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners, contributing to real product work while developing foundational product management skills. While the specific product area may vary, every intern will be supported with mentorship, clear goals, and meaningful ownership.
You will:
- Learn and apply the fundamentals of product management by supporting a cross-functional product team.
- Partner closely with a product manager to understand user problems through research, data, and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Help define and frame product opportunities by synthesizing insights into clear problem statements and recommendations.
- Contribute to product discovery and delivery activities, including documenting requirements, writing user stories, and supporting backlog refinement.
- Participate in team ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Assist in evaluating the impact of product changes through customer feedback, qualitative insights, and quantitative metrics.
- Communicate progress, learnings, and ideas clearly with teammates.
- Build an understanding of how BambooHR designs, builds, and ships high-quality products that serve real customer needs.
- Support product-led growth experiments by helping design, launch, and analyze lightweight in-product tests (e.g., onboarding flows, activation nudges, feature discoverability, upgrade prompts) to improve key funnel metrics
If you’re excited by solving real user problems, learning how software products are built, and working on a collaborative team that values curiosity and impact, we’d love to hear from you.
This will be a paid, full-time internship (M-F, 8-5), running from May 2026 to August 2026.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Strong interest in product management, technology, or building software products.
- Ability to think critically about problems and communicate ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through.
- Ability to balance creative thinking with analytical reasoning.
- Self-motivated and curious—you take initiative to understand the “why,” not just the “what.”
- Alignment with BambooHR’s values and enthusiasm for our mission to set people free to do great work.
- Curiosity about how AI and emerging technologies can support product teams and improve workflows.
What Will Make Us REALLY Love You
- Prior internship, coursework, or project experience related to product management, software development, UX/design, or data analysis.
- Exposure to agile or product development methodologies.
- Experience working on collaborative, cross-functional team projects.
- Familiarity with customer research, experimentation, or basic product metrics.
- Interest in SaaS products or HR Technology
