Do you have a communication style that can interact with all levels of the organization? Then we are looking for you! We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team. This position is 100% remote with the option of working in one of our local offices, if desired.
Duties and Responsibilities
Be a resource and assist Project Managers in maintaining the life cycle of the project from the notice of award to the final closeout
Set up projects, extra work orders, transfers, or other amendments according to contract terms in Deltek Vantagepoint
Assist with the creation and processing contracts
Review contracts for accounting specific requirements and ensure timely completion of all specialized client billing needs
Review project labor and expenses to ensure accurate posting to projects
Follow through on all billing related issues to resolution
Work closely with Project Managers and Directors to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting and project billing
Invoice clients monthly
Respond to client, vendor, or staff inquiries in a timely fashion
Prepare accounts receivable statements and follow up on past due invoices
Handle project audits as they arise
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or 3–4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience providing administrative and entry-level accounting support in an environmental services environment.
Familiarity with Deltek Vantapoint
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Well organized, detail-oriented, and excellent follow through
Ability to think critically and problem solve
Highly motivated to progress to the next level
Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
Excellent customer service skills: ability to effectively engage and communicate with different personality types
Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Compensation: $25-$31 hourly*
- *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.

- This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
