Work Term: May - December 2026

The Residential Lending Strategy Intern will be responsible for supporting Mortgage Retention and HELOC strategies and initiatives to drive maximum customer retention and growth of our Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) product. They will contribute alongside cross functional teams to support overall strategy and direction of the business unit. The successful candidate will use analytical abilities to provide both qualitative and quantitative input supporting the development of recommendations to drive strategy and growth.

The Core Responsibilities of the Job

  • Strategic Initiatives & Decision Making
  • Assist in the discovery and planning for a range of strategic and tactical business topics (e.g. customer retention, portfolio growth, pricing, operational efficiency, regulatory, etc.)
  • Support the development of business cases for new opportunities including qualitative fact finding and quantitative modeling for new initiatives
  • Develop familiarity with internal systems and gather relevant data from various internal sources
  • Support execution of product improvements or initiatives
  • Portfolio Reporting & Insights
  • Ideate, design, build, and manage dashboards (PowerBI and Excel) that consolidate portfolio metrics for operational and strategic decision making
  • Develop and communicate presentation materials with key data and portfolio insights
  • Support the refinement of processes that enable quicker turnaround on analysis
  • Support quantitative methods (e.g. Excel models) to develop insights that drive decision making
  •  Cross-functional data support & investigations
  • Support requests from cross-functional teams to provide data or analysis to enable them to make data-driven decisions
  • Support strategic planning (e.g. financial modeling, market research, development of presentation materials, etc.)
  • Present key insights and recommendations based on research and data analysis

Let’s Talk About You!

  • Currently enrolled in University or College program (Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics is preferred)
  • Extensive working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, SQL)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Good time management skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise, and professional manner

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
