Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Business Controller to join our Fintech Team. The role will be a key partner to product, finance, and commercial teams, responsible for business cases, financial models, and performance analysis of our fintech products — with a strong focus on flexibility products (e.g., travel flexibility solutions such as cancellation protection, flexible tickets etc).

The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical thinker with +6 years of experience in financial controlling, business controlling or/and analysis preferably within fintech, travel, or digital services, who can effectively translate data into meaningful business recommendations. He should be able to fast understand and interpret new products or services into business cases tracking end to end potential monetary implications that could impact performance and propose actions for mitigating them

The role has a hybrid work model and will be based in Athens or London. (Candidates must be located in one of these two cities, as the role is tied to our local offices.)

Responsibilities:

  • Own domain PL by creating and monitoring relevant KPIs and PL material, providing insights on product performance, identify risk areas and provide feedback to business.

  • Build and maintain complex financial models including business plans, profitability, pricing models, and business cases.

  • Collaborate with product and commercial teams to evaluate products profitability, pricing strategies and product development decisions.

  • Create and evolve forecasting models aiming to predict performance domain’s products performance important to be considered when taking strategic decisions including pricing, product continuity.

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the financial success of the assigned products.

  • Lead, track and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reconciliations of product performance for both the company and B2B clients against forecasts..

  • Provide variance analysis, scenario modeling strategic recommendations for corrective actions.

  • Lead reporting/ automation tech initiatives aiming to increase speed and information accuracy flowing into the organization that is important for decision making

  • Develop reporting frameworks, dashboards and well-structured presentations to support leadership decision making .

  • Support new product launches by assessing financial feasibility, risk exposure and ROI.

  • Act as a bridge between finance and product teams ensuring financial accountability and transparency.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g. CFA, ACCA, CIMA or MBA) will be considered a strong asset.

  • Ideally minimum 6 years of professional experience in Controlling, Auditing or FP&A. Experience in Fintech or Travel industries is an advantage.

  • Solid knowledge of financial/ business modeling, accounting, and P&L structures

  • Proven experience working with large datasets and performance metrics

  • Solid understanding of P&L, accounting, cash flow, and key financial metrics

  • Strong analytical, business thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities using both bottom-up and top-down approaches with attention to detail.

  • Highly business driven and commercial mindset able to convert business initiatives into numbers and reflect on key decisions needed to make an initiative successful.

  • Advanced PC literacy (Spreadsheet tools, Presentation software, Reporting tools, financial systems, BI tools)

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Positive thinking and can do approach

  • Organized, structured, and flexible mindset to manage changing priorities and multiple projects. Ability to manage complexity in a targeted a focused manner.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Team player with cross-functional collaboration, self-driven, creative thinker, and a positive “can-do” attitude
