Job Description
We are recruiting for a Junior IT Operations Analyst to join Experian’s Global Operations Centre (EGOC) in Nottingham working within the Practice Management team and supporting our Monitoring and Event Management capability.
This entry-level role is ideal for someone to learn how modern IT Operations, observability and event management work, and will transition new services into our operational environment.
As a Junior IT Operations Analyst, you will work with the Practice Manager and Practice Analyst. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that our services have the right configuration, alerting, monitoring, and documentation in place. This will align with EGOC standards and best practices and you will deliver core practice management activities.
This is a hybrid, Ruddington-based role reporting to the Observability and Monitoring Practice Manager
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Junior Practice Analyst, you will:
- Support the Practice Management team in ensuring services meet operational acceptance standards, including monitoring, alerting, documentation, and readiness.
- Help maintain the EGOC Service Acceptance dashboard and ensure tasks are completed to required timelines.
- Review Service Design Packs, Alert Designs, and other project documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practice.
- Perform quality checks against monitoring and alerting configurations delivered by projects.
- Assist with knowledge management activities, including reviewing articles, maintaining queues, and helping stakeholders follow bestβpractice guidance.
- Support Service Improvement initiatives, tracking SI task progress and prompting owners for updates.
- Represent EGOC where needed in meetings such as PIRs, service transition sessions, and internal forums.
Qualifications
- Background in IT Operations, Service Management, or event management.
- Experience with ITIL concepts or interest in developing ITIL skills.
- Organised, detailβdriven, and experienced following set processes.
- Interest in how monitoring and alerting tools work in a real operational environment. Tools include Dynatrace, Cloudwatch, NNMi, Splunk, ThousandEyes, or similar
- Experience with O365 tools
- ServiceNow, ITOM or Knowledge Management, would be advantageous.
