FanDuel Group is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with deep understanding of Quality in the Software Development Life Cycle. Quality at FanDuel is a community effort and as an advocate of Quality you will work with various teams to promote best practices and processes that will deliver the best experience for our customers. You will contribute to Quality by enabling engineering teams to define the testing process that suits a project’s need. In addition, you will support efforts to automate and programmatically provide solutions to more efficiently and rapidly give quality feedback. You will work to build automation frameworks that can stand alone to provide quality feedback or be integrated in CI/CD and used as part of the deployment cycle.

You will use your experience to help define testing strategies, approaches, and coordinate a team wide approach towards Quality. Your innovation will be fostered in a culture that constantly seeks to improve and originate new ideas that aim to make software testing easier and more efficient.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN

  • Be an advocate for Quality through analyzing risks, test planning, test tracking, and test run results.
  • Implement emerging test technologies and establish quality gates for repetitive and efficient quality feedback.
  • Identify areas of improvement as they relate to Software Quality. (e.g., new automation and testing strategies to add to backlog)
  • Contribute to test cases and documentation.
  • Perform manual testing as needed
  • Participate in testing new software releases
  • Optimize quality procedures using data analytics and shift-left principles
  • Work with the wider Quality Engineering org to improve services offerings to engineering in order to facilitate ease and speed of testing.
  • Independently create automation test scripts, programmatic solutions, and use technology to provide rapid feedback on software quality
  • Work with Quality Analysts to identify manual test cases that make ideal candidates for automation and plan for these to be developed and included in the most appropriate stage of delivery
  • Contribute to the test infrastructure, working with minimal direction

What we’re looking for in our next teammate

  • Proficient in JavaScript-based testing frameworks (e.g., Webdriver.io, Nightwatch) and automation for front-end and native apps (Appium)
  • Experienced in using generative AI for test prioritization, generation, analysis, and quality insights.
  • Experienced in using cloud-based software testing platforms like BrowserStack with automation frameworks
  • Skilled in real-time test result monitoring using tools like Datadog
  • History of successfully supporting teams and organizations in adopting test automation, with emphasis on shift-left practices
  • Ability to breakdown acceptance criteria into various testing techniques (e.g., exploratory, manual, automation, contract testing, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and convey quality risks for new and existing features
  • Ability to prioritize test conditions and features to be tested
  • Strong technical and analytical skills to partner with software engineers across various levels on testing practice.
  • Strong communicator with ability to break down and convey technical concepts

The applicable salary range for this position is $106,000 - $133,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
