We’re looking for a Senior Counsel and Senior Director, Head of Global Labor and Employment to join our team at GoDaddy! In this role, you’ll serve as the Head of Employment Legal, reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel – Risk & Compliance. You’ll lead our global labor law function by coordinating a team spanning the U.S. and international markets—while staying actively involved in complex, high-impact employment matters.
As our primary in-house expert on employment and labor law, you’ll blend strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You’ll operate at the executive level while directly advising on sensitive workforce issues that shape our business.
This highly visible leadership role puts you at the center of setting and executing a global employment legal strategy across our multinational workforce. You’ll partner closely with executive leadership, our broader Legal team, and People Operations to drive risk-informed decisions and support continued business growth.
What you’ll get to do…
- Lead and coordinate all global workforce legal issues related to employee relations and labor matters across GoDaddy’s corporate and international operations
- Build, develop, and inspire a distributed team of employment attorneys (U.S. and international), fostering alignment, accountability, and high performance
- Serve as a trusted advisor to our C-suite and executive leadership on workforce strategy, risk, and compliance
- Personally handle and closely advise on our most complex and sensitive matters, including executive-level issues, internal investigations, reorganizations, and reductions in force
- Develop and implement global employment policies, practices, and governance frameworks that align with local laws and company objectives
- Shape and deliver clear, practical legal guidance on employment risk to enable informed business decision-making
- Partner with our Litigation team to manage employment-related disputes, agency matters, and outside counsel strategy
- Drive a proactive, risk-based approach to employment law by monitoring legal developments and implementing scalable compliance solutions
- Advise on international labor matters, including works councils (e.g., Germany) and other jurisdiction-specific requirements
- Support global expansion, M&A, and organizational transformation initiatives from an employment law perspective
- Design and deliver training for leadership and People Operations on employment law, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Build and refine processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency in how we deliver legal support to global employment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and People Operations to ensure alignment on workforce-related risk
Your experience should include…
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state (Arizona, California, Texas, and/or Washington license(s) a plus), with 15 plusyears of employment law experience, including significant in-house experience supporting a global organization
- Deep expertise in U.S. and international employment law, with demonstrated experience managing matters across multiple jurisdictions (EMEA and/or APAC), including familiarity with works councils or similar labor structures (Germany experience preferred)
- Proven leadership and executive partnership skills, with experience advising C-suite executives, influencing business decisions, and building and developing teams while staying hands-on in complex legal matters
- Strong experience navigating high-stakes employment issues, including sensitive employee relations challenges, workplace investigations, executive-level matters, and partnering with litigation teams and outside counsel on employment disputes
- Excellent judgment and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with practical, result-focused solutions in a fast-paced environment; experience using technology and AI tools to improve legal service delivery preferred (willingness required)
You might also have…
- Experience in technology, marketplace, or platform-based companies
We encourage you to apply even if your experience or skillset doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement. We value a wide range of backgrounds and transferable skills, and we are excited to support learning and growth.
