The Role
Gozio is seeking a CAD Specialist - Digital Mapping to help build our rapidly-growing platform. This role is perfect for an experienced CAD Technician, GIS Specialist, Architectural Drafter, BIM Modeler, or Space Planner looking to apply their technical drafting and data skills to a unique digital product.
This role is fully remote, although we have a number of our team members based in Atlanta. Previous experience in healthcare is not required, but a high level of curiosity, a demonstrated history of continuous learning, and a bias for action are.
What You’ll Do
- Translate complex 2D floor plans and architectural blueprints into our proprietary digital map format using CAD-based tools.
- Inventory and analyze client-supplied floor plans (blueprints, CAD files) to identify missing areas, buildings, floors, and cross-building connections.
- Digitize key spatial features (walls, doors, rooms) and assign data attributes to them to enable 3D rendering and indoor navigation.
- Interpret and apply ‘as-built’ markups, red-lines, and furniture layouts from clients and our onsite implementation teams.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance (QA) to ensure all digital maps meet our high standards for accuracy, completeness, and aesthetic quality.
- Collaborate with software engineers to provide feedback on map features and suggest improvements for our internal CAD tools.
- Participate in remote prep and recap sessions for client-site visits.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)
Must-Haves:
- 7-10 years of professional experience in a technical drafting or mapping role, such as a CAD Technician, GIS Specialist, Architectural Drafter, or Space Planner.
- Expert-level proficiency with digital drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar 2D/3D drafting programs).
- Exceptional spatial reasoning: The ability to easily read 2D floor plans and visualize them as a 3-dimensional space.
- A meticulous eye for detail: You must be able to spot inaccuracies, misalignments, or missing data in complex plans.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfortable using modern technology, including mobile apps (iOS/Android) and tablets.
Bonus Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with facilities management, space planning, or interior design (e.g., furniture layouts).
- Familiarity with GIS concepts (data attribution, layers, polygons).
- Good practical experience with Microsoft Office.
- A BA/BS degree in a related field (Architecture, Geography, Design) is a plus, but extensive experience is prioritized.
