Global Marketing & Sales | Financial Analyst & Controller
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst & Controller to join Hitachi’s Global Marketing & Sales (GM&S) team, a high-profile corporate initiative at the very center of the Hitachi Group.
As Financial Analyst & Controller, you’ll be responsible for the financial management and strategic oversight of Hitachi’s Global Marketing & Sales team. This role ensures robust financial control, accurate reporting, and the implementation of best practices across all transformation projects. The successful candidate will drive automation and technology integration, and act as a key financial advisor to decision-makers and stakeholders across the Hitachi group.

What you’ll do
Project Financial Management
- Provide financial input to Project Execution Plans.
- Prepare project invoices, financial accounting, and site-level reporting.
- Drive project cash flow management, currency risk mitigation, and tax compliance.
- Ensure accuracy of project balance sheets, income statements, and forecasts.
- Lead project reviews in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, ensuring timely mitigation actions.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance, internal controls, and finance directives.
- Monitor and correct deviations from internal control rules.
- Enforce compliance with group charters and country-specific financial instructions.
Process Improvement & Technology Integration
- Promote best practices and harmonize tools and processes.
- Champion the deployment of new technologies (AI, RPA, machine learning).
- Implement automated systems (e.g., ERPs, dashboards) for financial reporting.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting and project reviews.
- Create and leverage BI tools (e.g. Power BI) and dashboards for real-time financial insights.
- Maintain high-quality financial data aligned with defined standards.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Manage budgets and forecasts using scenario modeling.
- Track variances and optimize resource allocation.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- A Master’s in business, finance, or related field; MBA in Sales & Marketing is a plus.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Project Controlling and Marketing & Sales environments.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial technologies.
- Proven experience with ERP systems and financial automation tools.
- Expertise in cost estimation and analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to work across global time zones.
- Fluent in English; Japanese proficiency is a significant advantage.
