JOB SUMMARY
The Product Development & Wording Specialist is referred to internally as the Product Development & Wording Manager. The Product Development & Wording Specialist supports the Enterprise, the Product Team, the Commercial team, and the Compliance Departments as a manager of assigned IMG Travel products in addition to being a technical drafter of various Policy Wordings, Certificates of Insurance, Master Policies, and Master Services Agreements. Their role is to assist the Product Compliance Manager, Portfolio Managers, Senior VP of Products and Compliance and Director of Global Products with corporate initiatives, new wording development projects, and product wording updates in accordance with the annual Corporate Product Calendar and annual Corporate Initiatives. They will help to evaluate filed carrier wordings, benefit designs, existing product language, competitor language and provide input on development of new products, existing products, and all associated wordings. On their specifically assigned products, which will be assigned on an annual basis, they will collaborate with the Commercial team, Underwriting and Insurance Carriers as well as schedule or attend discovery meetings, kickoff meetings and contribute to the Business Requirements Document (BRD) when information is obtained from the various IMG Stakeholders to execute and implement a products deployment.
The Departments they will work with on a regular basis include but are not limited to: Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team, EPMO, Operations, Underwriting, Business Intelligence, Claims, Commercial, Account Services, Legal, Claims and Marketing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the process of the annual product calendar wording review and the creation/drafting of wordings for new and existing product updates.
- Technical writing of wording where needed to support a product’s benefits and their intent.
- Drafting, circulating and maintaining within SharePoint the BRD for their assigned products.
- Report on the progress and assist to keep the calendar on schedule for specified launch dates.
- Memorialize historical tracking of changes made to the various plans in SharePoint or other designated team sites.
- Communicate with key stakeholders and assist in product training for the Commercial team and other key stakeholders.
- Support technical product changes including testing in websites and other core systems and working with third party vendors to communicate necessary changes.
- Maintain repository of product change suggestions from all business areas to review/present at the time of product update and/or creation.
- Create modification documents to support product training.
- Support competitive analysis efforts with Portfolio Manager in reviewing competitors’ wording and plan designs; serve as SME on carrier filings including bracketed options to consult with Commercial team as required.
- Communicate with the carrier for approval of drafted documents.
- Publish wordings upon completion.
- Assign wordings to the document guidelines within AdminSys.
- Ensure the process follows standard operating procedures and SLAs.
- Review SERFF filings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum (3) Years’ Experience in Medical or Travel Insurance with emphasis in the following areas:
- Policy Forms and drafting
- Claims Examining
- Sales or Benefit Design
- Project Management
- Microsoft Office Products
- Document Imaging
- Documentation Skills
- Data Entry
- Ability to analyze information and Problem-solving skills
- HIPAA and US Regulations
