The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is seeking a dedicated Reading Therapist to support students in Grades 1-5 in their literacy development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reading intervention strategies and a passion for helping young learners succeed.
Position: Reading Therapist
Location: Remote
Classification: Contract (1099)
Compensation: $35/hr-$45/hr
The Role:
Provide individualized reading therapy sessions to students in Grades 1-5 using evidence-based instructional strategies.
Assess students’ reading abilities to identify specific areas of need and develop targeted intervention plans.
Implement engaging and effective literacy activities that motivate students and promote reading comprehension and fluency.
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to ensure growth.
Collaborate with parents and educators to share student progress and align on strategies for support.
Create a positive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student confidence and a love for reading.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Reading, Special Education, or a related field; Masterβs degree preferred.
Earned SPED or Reading Intervention certification
Experience in reading instruction or intervention for elementary school students.
Knowledge of effective reading strategies and assessment tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents, and educators.
Ability to build rapport and inspire young learners to achieve their reading goals.
Flexible availability, including potential after-school and weekend hours.
