We’re looking for a Decision Science Analyst who is eager to revolutionize Car insurance with us. You’ll be joining a critical team focused on the future of our Car product.
This is a chance to build advanced pricing models, loss reserving & tools, while modernizing our analytics discipline across all facets of Lemonade—from distribution to underwriting, claims, compliance, and finance. You’ll leverage competitive data and data science to optimize our customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing, directly impacting the success and growth of our newest business line.
In this role you’ll
Develop new innovative car products to meet the needs of new emerging customer segments, including connected, autonomously driven cars
Be a key contributor to our car insurance state rating plans and filing support
Help develop and integrate predictive modeling projects while working closely with the Data Science and Insurance teams
Craft rate filing support for new modeling techniques
Recommend pricing and underwriting actions based on ongoing monitoring of results
Develop the rates for product expansions in new states or new insurance products
Assist in the design of internal pricing software for advanced analytics to support real-time decision making and scalable growth
Achieve success by seeing your models and rate changes implemented directly into production, leading to measurable improvements in loss ratio and customer experience
Grow your expertise by getting hands-on with bleeding-edge technologies and collaborating directly with our Data Scientists and Product teams on cross-functional initiatives
What you’ll need
4+ years of statistical modeling experience
Previous or current experience at a P&C insurance carrier within an Actuarial, Analytics or Insurance product team, required
Proficiency in data science programming languages such as Python required, and database query tools such as SQL
Experience developing and implementing predictive models using both supervised and unsupervised machine learning approaches such as GLM, decision tree, and gradient boosting machines
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
Ability to work in a remote environment
Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture

Lemonade’s US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $130,000 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
